With the Jacinth-Ambrosia deposit experiencing grade decline and depletion, Iluka is evaluating options to extend the mining life of the province beyond 2028.

The company holds a number of satellite deposits adjacent to the Jacinth-Ambrosia operation and has brought forward the feasibility study into Typhoon and Sonoran after studies into the Atacama mine development identified some challenges. 

Typhoon and Sonoran would make use of existing infrastructure assets, re-purpose equipment and leverage an extremely competent workforce.

Iluka continues to pursue technical solutions to support Atacama's commercialisation.
